Anna’s Story

Anna is a wife and mother who has always experienced a touch of anxiety, but her anxiety really flared up and began to get the best of her in 2020. Like so many of us, things that at one time she could take in stride, began to stack up and feel overwhelming. On top of that, her former coping strategies like going to the gym, grabbing dinner with friends, and singing at church were either unavailable or added stress instead of taking it away. Anna found my Instagram account and began following it, willing to try something new to help deal with the anxiety and insomnia. In 2021, Anna started taking my online gentle yoga class through Fort Vancouver Regional Library and felt immediate relief.  In her words:

That class was just what I needed! I don’t remember the last time I felt that relaxed, and after class I had the best sleep I’ve had in about a year! 

Anna was also one of the first members to join Homecoming, my online therapeutic yoga membership. Anna loves searching for Homecoming practices based on length of time so she can fit in a yoga practice even if she only has 10 minutes. She’s a fan of the 1 & 2 Spoon practices for calming her nervous system and often will play a 1 Spoon recording for help falling asleep at night.  In her words:


Practicing yoga with Sarah is like stepping off of the roller coaster I didn’t even realize I was on! My Homecoming membership has helped me tremendously with my anxiety levels. It helps me to refocus my thoughts on the more positive.
